This character LCD screen has a white LED back light against a blue screen. This display is compatible with the LCD117 serial driver board.

We also recently bought some grey models - which are black text on a gray background. These can be read better in high light environments such as outdoors. They have white backlights for low-light situations. Identical to the other model except for LCD / backlight color.

Both of these models run with our LCD117 kit without a backlight resistor (use a shunt).
