This is a 4 AA (6 volt) battery holder that includes a switch. It also comes with a 2.1mm barrel plug so you can just plug it into the external jack on the BBB, RBBB, or Duemilanove. Perfect for mobile power of the BBB, RBBB, servo motors, JeeNodes, Duemilanove, small robots and many more applications.

6 volts will also power the Arduino Mega but may be sub-optimal if you are drawing lots of power from the board.

You have to solder the barrel plug on yourself if you use it. The red (positive) wire goes in the center of the plug. Be careful to keep bare wires short and test the plug (quickly) with a meter, before you put it into service, to make sure the plug is not shorted, and the center terminal is positive. Batteries not included.
